Lots of great options here.
Less is More. If your swim trunks touch your knee when standing straight they are too long. I got back from a trip to Maui last week and the first thing I did was trash my swim suit. I don’t distinctly remember when huge billowy “board shorts” became the norm, but two things are for certain: they aren’t stylish and they aren’t practical. Trying to maneuver though the water on to any sort of board is nearly impossible when your shorts act as an underwater parachute.
After spending an exhausting day on your board (especially when you’re a beginner, like me) you’ll probably want to find some grub… and a beer. Rolling into the local taproom in your heavily soaked suit is not a good look. Say goodbye to ringing out your trunks and the layering of towels on your leather car seats. Gant Rugger, Monaco, & Sundek don’t retain water and all dry in mere minutes.
There is no denying you will spend a little more on these tailored trunks, but in my opinion it’s worth it. Let’s be real, it’s about time those pasty thighs saw the light of day anyway.
